  5. Can I participate in any of the races offered through the Toronto Goodlife Maratrhon (Half Marathon or 10K)?

Absolutely!  The core group of our participants in the marathon will be taking part in the 10K run or walk, but we encourage everyone to challenge themselves, and join the group of runners that best suits their abilities and needs.  The fundraising requirements will be the same, however, you will have to arrange your own transportation to and from the marathon site, as the start and end times are different than for the 10K.

  6. I never run. Will I be able to finish a 10K?

Absolutely! It might take a little bit of training, but many of our runners are first timers.  To date, every Team Yachad Toronto runner has crossed the finish line successfully, whether you are a first time runner or an experienced one.

  7. I am concerned that I might not be able to raise the required funds. Will I be able to do it?

Even if you’ve never raised money before, just a little bit of hard work and networking will make it easy for you to solicit and collect sponsorships from friends, family, colleagues, neighbors, and others.

Experience has shown that it is not only possible, but quite enjoyable as you work to reach this goal.  Yachad is a worthwhile organization and our runners are enthusiastic about its mission. You will be surprised how friends, family, and co-workers will respond to your effort to run/walk in a marathon to help this wonderful cause. Remember, you are not asking people to make donations… you are asking them to sponsor YOU and YOUR efforts! Tax receipts will be issued for donations of $18 or more by Yachad, The Canadian Jewish Council for Disabilities.

Team Yachad will be with you every step of the way to help you reach your goal! Should you have any additional concerns or questions related to the fundraising aspect, please email us at
